Another spine tumor
A spinal tumour is an abnormal mass of tissue within or around the spinal column. These cells grow and multiply uncontrollably. Spinal tumours can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Primary tumours arise in the tissues of the spinal column, and metastatic result from cancer that spreads to the spinal column from elsewhere. Spinal tumours are classified in two ways: 1) according to the region of the spine in which they occur (cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacrum) or 2) according to their location within the different tissues of the spinal column (spinal cord, bone, spinal canal).
