DESCRIPTION

Somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) are the brain activity detected after stimulation of peripheral nerves. Somatosensory evoked potentials are used to examine the integrity of nerve chains from the body to the brain. It is a sensitive tool for determining spinal cord damage. SEPs might be used to monitor the spinal cord function during surgery.
