What is parasitology?

parasitology is an independent medical specialty that studies human parasites and the diseases they cause. Parasites can be both unicellular and multicellular organisms. They belong to 14 types of organisms: amoebae, fungi, carnivores, flatworms, roundworms, vertebrates, arthropods, and mollusks, echinoderms, chordates, and others. Fungi and other higher animals belong to the multicellular ones.

Parasitologists are doctors specialized in parasitology. They carry out the prevention, diagnosis, therapy, and rehabilitation of parasitically ill patients.
